How our templates are created

WaiverTemplate templates are built by reviewing commonly used waiver provisions for each activity type, drawing on standard legal document structures used across the industry. Templates include provisions that are commonly relevant to that activity.

What "activity-specific" means

Each activity type generates a document with clauses relevant to that activity's common risks and consent requirements: for example, a tattoo waiver includes bloodborne pathogen acknowledgement and aftercare responsibility; a rock climbing waiver includes equipment inspection and belayer competency clauses. "Activity-specific" refers to the clauses included, not to a determination that the document satisfies every legal requirement in any particular jurisdiction.

What "governing state" means

When you select a state, WaiverTemplate populates the governing-law section of your document with that state's name. This does not mean WaiverTemplate has verified that the document satisfies all applicable laws, regulations, or requirements in that state. State laws affecting waiver enforceability vary significantly.

Template versioning

Each template carries a version number and generation date. When templates are updated, the version number changes. We do not automatically update previously generated documents.

Review process

Templates are reviewed periodically for accuracy and updated when we identify significant issues. The "Last reviewed" date on each page reflects when we last audited the content for accuracy. We do not update this date on a schedule: only when actual review occurs.
